[99mTc]Tc-Sestamibi Bioaccumulation Can Induce Apoptosis in Breast Cancer Cells: Molecular and Clinical Perspectives

The aim of this study was to investigate the possible role [99mTc]Tc-Sestamibi in regulation cancer cell proliferation and apoptosis. To end, vivo values uptake have been associated with in-situ expression both Ki67 caspase-3. For vitro investigations, BT-474 cells were incubated three different concentrations [99mTc]Tc-Sestamibi: 10 µg/mL, 1 0.1 µg/mL. Expression caspase-3 Ki67, as well ultrastructure cells, evaluated at T0 after 24, 48, 72, 120 h incubation. Ex data strengthened known association between sestamibi expression. Linear regression analysis showed a significant number apoptotic caspase-3-positive breast cells. As concerning data, decrease index observed high concentration (10 µg/mL). Amazingly, increase cultures µg/mL observed. This suggested pathophysiological processes involved cancer.
